STEM Education

By Susan Silk,

GoSTEM is a summer program geared towards middle school girls. It is an offering through Keene State College’s Kids on Campus summer camp.

For the past 4 years, a dynamic group of instructors come together to expose girls to STEM and STEAM and all its cutting edge technologies. Hands-on, problem solving, problem based learning sparks their curiosity to explore, discover, and achieve while having lots of fun! This year, we focused on “Optics”. The Optics Study was a request by both local manufacturers and Keene State College. KSC is in the process of developing an Optic Pathway for the 2020-2021 school year. GoSTEM will continue to concentrate on Optics and plan on expanding the offering to high school age students in the summer of 2020. One week will be geared towards middle school and one week towards high school.
